Bradley Walden is a very special seven year old boy at St Stithians Boys’ Preparatory who has taken his own initiative to create an organisation aimed at helping children living with HIV/AIDS. His organisation, The Stop AIDS Club began shortly after listening to a Founder’s Day speech regarding AIDS almost three years ago.
As the Peer Counsellors of 2010 we have decided to take a wonderful opportunity to help Bradley with his very touching organisation. He has designed a logo with the AIDS awareness sign and has made many posters as well as setting up a website (www.stopaidsclub.com) for his club. Using his logo he has created beaded AIDS key-rings that he sells at various events to raise money for various organisations supporting this cause.
This year we have helped Bradley raise money that is given to associations such as Cotlands at a Grandparents chapel service as well as the Girls’ College Open Day and thus far we have helped him raise a total of R1410.00 this year.
We are very privileged and honoured to be a part of his very special initiative and hope to continue to help him with The Stop AIDS Club as the year proceeds. It has been a very special pleasure helping Bradley and we hope that this organisation and its achievements continue to grow to help others in its very extraordinary and apparent future
