The concept of a Young Round Square has been developed to facilitate the introduction of the philosophy to students at an early age.

General

Defined Age Group 10 to 12 years (agreed to at Mayo Conference)

Young Round Square 10 to 12 age group and

Junior Round Square is the 12 to 14 age group.

Membership is optional for regions and provisionally managed at Regional Level according to regional circumstances but must adhere to Round Square Principles outlined in this document.

Regions to determine eligibility for membership based on criteria below.

Regions elect a YRS chair for their region who coordinates YRS activities and reports to the Regional Director at the Regional Head’s and Reps’s meeting or the Regional Conference.

YRS is bound by the constitution of the Region.

Membership should be measured and controlled.

Membership must be proposed by the Regional Director approved by the Executive Director. Irrespective of the process of membership application adopted by any region, prior to any visit of a school by the Regional Director (or the designee), as part of a membership application process, consultation with the Executive Director MUST take place to ensure that the organization’s principles of growth and diversity are acknowledged and supported with respect to regional and global growth.
